Colorless and transparent liquid with a pungent smell.

Melting point: 2 to 4℃. Boiling point: 90.2℃.

Relative density 1.073. Refractive index: 1.3697.

Flash point (open cup) : 21.7℃

Dimethyl carbonate can replace the traditionally used toxic raw material products such as phosgene, dimethyl sulfate and methyl chloride. It can be used to synthesize various carbamate pesticides, such as ceveine, etc. It is used for the non-phosgene synthesis of polycarbonate, diphenyl carbonate, isocyanate and allyl diethylene glycol carbonate. Organic synthesis intermediates, such as anisole, dimethyl ether, alkyl arylamines, symmetrical diaminourea, methyl hydrazate, etc. In the pharmaceutical industry, it can be used to produce amino oxazolidinone, ciprofloxacin, p-ketone carboxylate esters and other pharmaceutical intermediates. In addition, it can also be used as an additive for gasoline and diesel, refrigeration machine oil and solvent, etc.
