Applications
Mainly used for producing dioctyl azelate plasticizer, and also as raw material for manufacturing fragrances, lubricants, oil agents, and polyamide resins.
- Azelaic acid-based plasticizers are excellent cold-resistant plasticizers, suitable for artificial leather, films, sheets, wires and cable sheaths, etc. They are used in nylon, molding resins, polyamide hot-melt bodies, polyester and polyamide fibers, polyester films, adhesives, polyurethane elastic materials, cable coatings, lubricant raw materials, electronic product capacitors, pharmaceuticals, and the production of plasticizer dioctyl azelate.
- Azelaic acid esters such as octyl ester, decyl ester, and tridecyl ester, as well as other diester-based lubricants, exhibit good viscosity-temperature characteristics and high viscosity indices. In particular, branched-chain alcohol diester lubricants have high flash points, low oxidation viscosity, and excellent low-temperature performance, giving them superior viscosity/temperature characteristics and good additive sensitivity. They are mainly used in aviation turbine engine lubricants, precision instrument oils, synthetic compressor oils, automotive engine oils, metal processing oils, synthetic grease base oils, and in the plastics, chemical fiber, and other fine chemical industries.

- Adding high-purity azelaic acid or its salts to the electrolyte of electrolytic capacitors can significantly extend the service life of the capacitors. An electrolyte composed of ethylene glycol/phosphoric acid/water can be used to manufacture aluminum electrolytic capacitors with low current leakage and high spark current.
- Azelaic acid is applied in fragrances, oil agents, anti-corrosion agents, flocculants, flame retardants, stabilizers, lubricants, and as a raw material for polyamide resins, among other uses.
