Magnesium Aluminium Silicate USP NF Grade
Magnesium Aluminium Silicate is a blend of colloidal montmorillonite and saponite that has been processed to remove grit and non-swellable ore components.
The requirements for viscosity and ratio of aluminium content to magnesium content differ for the several types of Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, as set forth in the accompanying table.

A. Pharmaceutical Industries:
In pharmaceutical industry, magnesium aluminum silicate is mainly used as: pharmaceutical adjuvant Emulsifier, Fitters, Adhesives, Adsorbent, Thixotropic agent, Thickener, Suspending agent, Binder, Disintegrating agent, Medicine carrier, Drug stabilizer, etc.
B. Cosmetics& Personal care Industries:
Acting as the Thixotropic agent, Suspension agent, Stabilizer, Thickening agent and Emulsifier.
Magnesium aluminum silicate also can effectively:
- Adsorb impurities excess sebum, change texture,
- Accelerate the old cells fall off, chamfer,
- Shrink pores, fade melanin,
- Improve skin tone
C. Toothpaste Industries:
Acting as Protection gel, Thixotropic agent, Suspension agent, Stabilizer, Thickening agent and Emulsifier.
D. Pesticide Industries:
Mainly used as thickening agent, thixotropic agent, dispersing agent, suspension agent, viscosifier for Pesticide.
R clay is a useful, economical grade for a wide range of applications: pharmaceutical, cosmetic, personal care, veterinary, agricultural, household and industrial products. Typical use levels are between 0.5% and 3.0%.
F, a micronized powder, is indicated for use where a dry material is required. It is used primarily in pressed powders and in direct compression tablets. Typical use levels are between 1% and 5%.
HV clay is indicated where high viscosity at low solids is desired. Excellent emulsion and suspension stabilization is obtained at low use levels. It is used primarily in cosmetics (e.g., pigment suspension in mascaras and eye shadow creams) and pharmaceuticals. Typical use levels are between 0.5% and 3%.
K clay is used in pharmaceutical oral suspensions at acid pH and in hair care formulas containing conditioning ingredients. It has low acid demand and high acid and electrolyte compatibility. It is used to provide good suspension at low viscosity. Typical use levels are between 0.5% and 3%.
HS clay was developed for maximum electrolyte stability and minimum acid demand. In cosmetics it is the preferred grade for hair and face masks. Typical use levels are between 1% and 3%
