149022-22-0 - IntroductionAmikacin Sulfate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic with the chemical name (1R,2S,3S,4R,6S)-4-hydroxy-2,4,6-trimethyl-7-[(2R,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(methylamino)hexahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid sulfate.

Amikacin Sulfate is a colorless crystalline powder, soluble in water and alcohol, and slightly soluble in chloroform and dichloromethane. It has a broad-spectrum and highly effective bactericidal effect, inhibiting many bacterial infections, especially Gram-negative bacteria, aerobic Gram-positive bacteria, and at least moderately sensitive bacterial strains.

Amikacin Sulfate is a powerful therapeutic tool, commonly used in the treatment of infectious diseases, particularly infections of the respiratory tract, urinary system, digestive system, skin, and soft tissues. It is also frequently used to treat severe infections such as hospital-acquired pneumonia, bloodstream infections, and intra-abdominal infections.
