Superiority

It is a reactive flame retardant, used in various thermosetting polyesters, and can provide wider ester performance selectivity than acid anhydride flame retardants. The resin formulated with it has high flame retardancy, minimal thermal discoloration and good light stability. Its high bromine content and easy combination with polyurethane make it especially suitable for rigid polyurethane foam.

Thermosetting polyester resins can be formulated over a wide range of compositions to provide a broader selection of resin properties than those available with anhydride flame retardants.
