Broad-spectrum antibiotics. Amoxicillin sodium is a sodium salt of amoxicillin and a penicillin antibiotic with the same pharmacological effect as amoxicillin. The mechanism of action is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. The target molecule is penicillin-binding protein PBPs on the cell wall. By inhibiting these PBPs, bacteria deform and cell division is delayed. This process occurs during the reproductive period of bacterial cells. Therefore, these drugs are bactericides during the reproductive period and are toxic to animal cells without cell walls. It has good antibacterial activity against streptococcus pneumoniae, hemolytic Streptococcus, aerobic gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus penicillinase, Enterococcus faecalis, non-β-lactamase strains of aerobic gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella, Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoea and Helicobacter pylori.
