Sodium benzoate, odorless or slightly with benzoin smell, sweet astringency. Stable in the air, exposed in the air can absorb moisture. Found naturally in blueberries, apples, plums, cranberries, prunes, cinnamon, and cloves. After sodium benzoate enters the human body, in the process of biotransformation, it combines with glycine to become uric acid, or combines with uronic acid to become glucuronic acid, and is completely discharged from the urine without accumulation in the body. In the normal dosage range, no toxic effect on human body, is a relatively safe preservative.
