Sodium tripolyphosphate has two crystallizing states: type I (high temperature) and type II (low temperature). The difference lies in their different bond lengths and bond angles, their chemical properties are the same, but the thermal stability and hygroscopicity of type I is higher than that of type II.

Sodium tripolyphosphates have chelating, suspension, dispersion, gelatinization, emulsification, pH buffer and other functions, can be used as the main additives for synthetic detergent, industrial water softener, leather pretanning agent, dyeing agent, organic synthesis catalyst, pharmaceutical industry dispersant and food additives. In addition to export STPP, domestic STPP consumption is mainly concentrated in the detergent industry, food, ceramics, etc.
