Dissolve in water and undergo an alkaline reaction. Insoluble in ethanol. Used as a soft water agent, fertilizer, liquid soap, food additive, etc. It can be prepared by adding potassium hydroxide to a solution of dipotassium hydrogen phosphate.

Tripotassium phosphate is used in the food industry as an emulsifier, potassium fortifier, alkaline water for preparing noodle products, acidity regulator, meat binding agent, buffering agent, antioxidant enhancer, and chelating agent. Used for manufacturing liquid soap, refined gasoline, high-quality paper, metal surface treatment, biological hydration treatment, and phosphorus potassium fertilizer. It can also be used as a boiler water softener, high-efficiency liquid compound fertilizer, and an auxiliary agent for recovering sulfur from acidic gases in synthetic rubber production.
