- Pharmaceutical & Daily Chemical: Astringent in traditional Chinese medicine for hemostasis and sore healing; astringent and bacteriostatic ingredient in toothpaste and talcum powder; intermediate for preparing aluminum salt drugs
- Others: Concrete early strength agent; flame retardant additive for fireproof materials; raw material for crystal crafts; reference reagent in analytical chemistry

5. Safety and Protection
- Hazards: Dust irritates respiratory tract and eyes; long?term contact may cause dry skin and itching; aqueous solution is acidic and slightly corrosive to metals; excessive intake of aluminum ions may have potential effects on nervous system and bones
- Safety Phrases: S26 (Rinse eyes with plenty of water and seek medical advice); S36 (Wear protective clothing); S45 (Seek medical attention immediately in case of accident or discomfort)
- Protection Measures: Wear dust mask, goggles and acid?resistant gloves during operation; keep good ventilation and avoid dust flying; prohibit mixing with strong bases, carbonates and metal powders
- First Aid: Rinse skin/eyes with clean water for 15 minutes if contacted; move to fresh air, supply oxygen and seek medical attention if inhaled; drink plenty of warm water to induce vomiting if ingested, drink milk or egg white and seek medical attention
