Chemical properties:  colorless needle crystals. It has a weak waxy, fruity and creamy aroma. Soluble in ethanol and oil, insoluble in water.

Uses:   GB 2760-96 stipulates the allowable food flavors. It is used to prepare essences for cream, tallow, milk, pork and fish, and spices. It can also be used to formulate rum flavors.
