- 1,6-hexanediol is a linear diol containing two primary hydroxyl groups, with more carbon atoms.
- It is mainly used in the manufacture of polyester glycol, and then used in the synthesis of polyurethane elastomer.
- Polyurethane elastomers made of diisocyanates such as hexamethylene adipate and MDI have excellent hydrolysis resistance, crystallinity and higher mechanical strength.
