Chemical Name and Composition

• Chlorhexidine Digluconate 20% is a 20% solution of chlorhexidine digluconate. Chlorhexidine digluconate is a biguanide compound with the chemical name 1,6-bis(N1-p-chlorophenyl-N5-biguanidyl)hexane digluconate. It is a cationic surfactant with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity.

Properties and Characteristics

• Physical Properties: Usually a colorless or light yellow transparent liquid with a slight aromatic odor. It has good solubility and can dissolve in water to form a clear solution, and the solution is relatively stable.

• Antibacterial Properties: It has a strong antibacterial effect on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including common pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
